Accented characters (é, ü, ñ, etc.) are stripped automatically so the cipher stays A–Z only. CJK characters (Chinese, Japanese, Korean) are not supported and will be removed.

No. The substitution cipher guarantees that no letter encrypts to itself (this property is called avoiding fixed points). Every A in the cipher is a different letter in the original quote — making the puzzle fair and solvable.

Quotes up to about 300 letters fit cleanly on a single printed page (A4 or Letter). Longer quotes work in the interactive solver but may wrap awkwardly in the PDF. For best print results, aim for 50–250 letters.

In the sidebar under Reveal Letters, you can tap any cipher letter to pre-reveal it in the puzzle. On Easy difficulty, the three most common letters are already selected for you. You can add or remove hints at any time before downloading or sharing.

The frequency table lists every cipher letter alongside a bar showing how often it appears. Because letter frequency in natural language is predictable (E, T, A are most common in English), solvers can match high-frequency cipher letters to common plaintext letters — a classic cryptanalysis technique.
